Any person desiring to confess faith in Jesus Christ and live a Christian life may become a member of the Methodist Church by a declaration of faith. Each person is asked the following questions:
-Do you confess Jesus Christ as your Savior, put your whole trust in His grace, and promise to serve Him as your Lord, in union with the church which Christ has opened to people of all ages, nations and races?
-According to the grace given to you, will you remain a faithful member of Christ’s holy church and serve as Christ’s representative in the world?
-As a member of Christ’s universal church, will you be loyal to the Methodist Church, and do all in your power to strengthen its ministries?
-As a member of this congregation, will you faithfully participate in its ministries by your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your witness, and your service?
We recognize the Sacrament of Baptism as it is administered by any Christian church. If you have not been previously baptized, the minister will administer the Sacrament.
If you are a member of another denomination, we will receive you with a pledge of loyalty to the Methodist Church. We will ask you:
-Will you be loyal to the Methodist Church and uphold it by your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your witness, and your service?
Persons united by ways (1) or (2) will be asked to consult with a minister either prior to or after joining.
If you are a member of another Methodist Church, we will receive you by transfer of membership. The church office will write and secure a Certificate of Transfer for you.
You may present yourself for membership as we sing the closing hymn by meeting the minister at the altar rail at the traditional service and and speaking with one of the staff in contemporary service.
We are in the process of updating our membership records to better serve you. Please take a few moments to fill out the form. If you have any questions please call the church office at 318-217-8383.
